Melody Express is a music outreach program in Calgary communities founded by Christine Chen and Zoe Ko. Our main purpose is to contribute to the communities through music by means of providing professional and amateur musicians a stage to share their love. Our performers, as volunteers, come from various private studios, music schools, and universities. Pictures will be taken of the performers at each concert and they will posted on our Facebook page.

 

Currently, we volunteer at several senior homes around the city:

2. Scenic Acres by Revera Retirement Living

3. Bow View Manor

4. Covenant Care- Holy Cross Manor

5. Manor Village at Garrison Green

6.Sage Hill Retirement Residence

7. Garrison Green

We have a set of booked dates so performers are welcome to join in on any of the booked dates as long as time allows. If you wish to book a SEPERATE time from our scheduled dates, please use the calendar on the registration form and put the time of desired performance in the comment box. Programs are posted here so please check to make sure there is adequate time for your performance BEFORE you submit the form.

Edgemont and Scenic Acres have a grand piano and they are regularly tuned. Bow View Manor, Sage Hill, and Covenant Care has an upright piano so we recommend that all performances without a piano or with limited piano use share their love to Bow View Manor. 

 

We are glad to expand our program to any organization in the city where music performance of any level and age is accepted.

Melody Express also provides gig referrals. If you are looking for musicians to perform at an event, send us the information about the types of instrumentation, time and date, and we will send musicians at your request.
